Seminarda "How can cities reduce traffic congestion?" mavzusi muhokama qilinmoqda. Kursdoshingiz Aisha jamoat transportini arzonlashtirish haqida gapirdi. Siz uning fikriga qo'shimcha qilmoqchisiz.
Maqsad: Kursdoshingiz fikrini nomi bilan tilga oling, unga yangi jihat qo'shing (misol, cheklov yoki kengaytma) va muhokamani oldinga siljiting.
Aisha: So I think the main thing is making public transport cheaper. If buses were really cheap, people would leave their cars at home.
Tutor: Okay. Does anyone want to pick up on that?
You: Yeah, I'd like to build on what Aisha said, actually. I think price is a big part of it, but reliability matters just as much.
Tutor: Go on.
You: Well, even if the bus is cheap, if it only comes every forty minutes, people won't rely on it. They'll still drive.
Aisha: Yeah, that's true. Frequency is huge.
You: And just to add to that, in Tashkent the metro is very cheap, but what really made people use it more was when they extended the lines to the outer districts.
Tutor: Interesting. So coverage as well as cost.
You: Exactly. So maybe we could combine the two ideas: lower fares, but only alongside better coverage and frequency.
Marco: That links to congestion charges too. You could use that money to fund the buses.
You: Oh, that's a good point. That would sort of solve the funding question Aisha raised earlier.
Aisha: Yeah, I like that. Carrot and stick.
