Telling your landlord about a problem

Landlord: Hello, Mark speaking.

You: Hi Mark, it's Jasur, from the flat on Hyde Park Road. Is now a good time?

Landlord: Yeah, go on. What's up?

You: Sorry to bother you, but I'm afraid the heating's stopped working. And there's no hot water either.

Landlord: Oh no. Since when?

You: Since Sunday, so about three days now. I tried resetting the boiler like it says in the manual, but it just shows an error code.

Landlord: Right. Do you know which code?

You: I think it's F28. I've taken a photo of it, I can send it to you.

Landlord: Yeah, send that over. I'll try and get someone round next week.

You: Hmm, the thing is, it's getting really cold at night, and we can't shower properly. Is there any chance someone could come a bit sooner?

Landlord: Fair enough. Let me call my plumber and see if he can do Thursday.

You: That would be great, thank you. Will someone need to be in to let him in?

Landlord: He's got a key, but it's better if someone's there.

You: No problem, I'll make sure I'm in. Could you text me once you've confirmed the time?

Landlord: Will do. Sorry about that.

You: No worries. Thanks for sorting it out.
